Discovering the Soundscapes of Europe - EAH exhibition 19.-27.9.2012, Tampere

European Acoustic Heritage -project is aimed at discovering and enhancing the soundscapes in Europe, the different soundings and listenings that make up the real and imaginary world and the personality of places and environments contributing to sonic cultural heritage.

The EAH travelling exhibition Discovering the Soundscapes of Europe will take place from 19 to 27 September in Finlayson area, at Galleria Nottbeck, (Satakunnankatu 18).

European Acoustic Heritage - State of Art –publication, the winners of soundscape composition contest and content of the exhibition will be published at the seminar. (See voting below)

Speakers are Nicolas Remy, Cresson - The Centre for research on sonic space & urban environment (France), Jürgen Schöpf, Phonogrammarchiv at Austrian Academy of Sciences (Austria), Horacio González Diéguez, Escoitar.org (Spain) and Heikki Uimonen, Sibelius Academy and Meri Kytö, University of Eastern Finland.


EAH Conference Thu 20.9. at 10-16


Keynote speakers are experts of soundscape studies in the Europe. The main topics are Acoustic Planning / Design in Cities, Transphonic sounds, the Media and the Everyday Sonic Environment, Sound environment and tourism, Importance of soundscape archives sekä Sound art and pedagogy.

EAH Water Soundscape Composition Contest - audience voting started!


Ten compositions from 52 competitors will be chosen for the final round and the winning three
and the winner of the audience vote will be installed and played at the EAH travelling exhibition in Tampere and proceeding to France, Belgium and finally Spain during 2012-2013.

Final works will be streamed online for audience voting during 3 - 18 September
